New Trematodes from Tasmanian Fishes (Order, Digenea. Family, Allocreadiidae)

چکیده
Little is known concerning the trematode parasites of Tasmanian fishes. A single species CoitocaecU11'l anas}Jiclis Hickman has been described from pl'ogenetic metacercariae in the Mountain Shrimp, A.nas}Jides tawmaniae Thompson. Members of the genus Coitocaec/Ii/n usually complete their life cycle in a fish. The present paper discusses the status of species belonging to the genus, and describes a new species, Coitocaecum }Jet)'vurn, from specimens of the freshwater fishes, GaZa,a,ias at.tenuatlls J enyns, and Pscucla,ph)'itis 1i1"villii (Cuv, and Val.) , caught in a brackish creek neal' the Bowen Monument at East Risdon. In addition to the above, a new trematode from the purple banded parrot fish, Pseuclolabrl,ls tetricLl8 Rich., is described. The species forms the type of a new genus, and the name Gno.thmnyzon insolens gen. et sp.n. is proposed. FOl'whole mounts specimens were fixed in 90(~ alcohol under slight covel'-glass preO'sure, and stained in borax-carmine or Ehrlich's haematoxylin. For sectioning specimens were fixed in Bouin's solution and the sections were stained in Ehrlich's haematoxylin.

Ultrastructural study of vitellogenesis and oogenesis of Crepidostomum metoecus (Digenea, Allocreadiidae), intestinal parasite of Salmo trutta (Pisces, Teleostei)
We describe the vitellogenesis and oogenesis of Crepidostomum metoecus from Salmo trutta collected in Corsica. This is the first study conducted in the Allocreadiidae family. The maturation of C. metoecus vitellocytes comprises four different stages depending on organelle content. The follicular vitellarium is surrounded by a basal lamina. Vitellocytes are randomly distributed into the vitellar...

Auriculostoma n. gen. (Trematoda: Allocreadiidae) is proposed for Auriculostoma astyanace n. sp. from the intestine of the characid fish Astyanax fasciatus in the Atlantic coastal drainages of Nicaragua. The new genus differs from all papillose allocreadiid genera, except Bunoderella, in possessing 2 pairs of muscular oral papillae (instead of 1 or 3), of which the ventrolateral pair is moderat...

Paracreptotremarosenthali sp. n. was discovered in the intestine of Xiphophorusmalinche and Pseudoxiphophorusjonesii, collected from the headwaters of Río Malila, tributary of Río Conzintla, in the Río Pánuco basin, Hidalgo, México, during 2008-2009. The new species differs from the five known species of Paracreptotrema Choudhury, Pérez-Ponce de León, Brooks & Daverdin, 2006 by having vitelline...

Four trematodes, all new host records, were found in synaphobranchid eels from the continental slopes in the Gulf of Mexico and the Straits of Florida. Hypertrema ambovatum Manter, 1960 (Fellodistomidae), previously known only from near New Zealand, is reported from Synaphobranchus oregoni, including data in addition to the original description; Pseudopecoelus vulgaris (Manter, 1934) (Opecoelid...

Wallinia mexicana sp. n. is described from the Mexican tetra, Astyanax mexicanus (De Filippi) (Characidae Weitzman), from two localities in northern Mexico. The new species can be distinguished from the two congeneric species, described from small-bodied characids in South and Central America, mainly by the posterior extent of the vitelline follicles (halfway between the posterior testis and th...
